Cooler Weather

Now that the weather is getting cooler, you’ll want to winterize your home to save on energy costs.  This is a good time to check your windows and doors to make sure there are no leaks that may cause heat and energy loss. First check your doors, if there is space between the frame and the door, you could use some weather stripping.  You can find adhesive plastic stripping or metal stripping which you affix with nails at any home and garden store.  When using the adhesive stripping, be sure to wipe down and clean the door frame before installing to ensure a good seal.  Now let’s consider your windows.  Check for any cracks around your outdoor windows and seal them with caulk.  Remove any old caulk, wipe away any debris that may be left behind, and start sealing.
