DIY Mosquito Trap

Mosquitoes can be a real pain and since they carry diseases, they can also be dangerous pests!  However, many insect repellents contain chemicals that could be harmful to humans and animals, so it can be difficult to decide which methods to employ when it comes to pest control!  Planting citronella or burning citronella candles on your porch or patio to stave off these buzzing pests is a good idea.  Or you can make a mosquito trap by re-using a two liter bottle.

You’ll need one cup of water, one quarter cup of brown sugar, one gram of yeast, and your two liter bottle.  Cut the bottle in half, and then warm the water and mix in the brown sugar.  Pour this in the bottom of the bottle and add the yeast.  Place the funnel part upside down into the bottom of the bottle and wrap the entire bottle with something black.  Place your trap away from your sitting area and replace the liquid every few weeks.
