Gov. Haley Urges Drivers to Stay Off Roads, Details Ongoing Efforts to Open Relief Centers

 In a press conference today, Gov. Nikki Haley reminded drivers to stay off the roads if at all possible today, in light of the expect 2 inches of rain falling on already saturated ground and compromised roadways. Haley also listed five disaster recovery centers that are now open:

  • Irmo: Main Library, St. Andrews Rd
  • Lexington: Main Library, August Rd
  • Manning: Weldon Auditorium, Maple St.
  • Holly Hill: Orangeburg Government Complex,  Old State Rd
  • Sumter: Civic Center, Liberty St.

The Governor said that two more centers would be opening over the weekend:

  • Columbia: Richland County Library Southeast, Garners Ferry Rd
  • Eastover: Richland County Library, Main St.
