Heart Health- Signs of Heart Attack

Earthsense

We’ve been talking about heart health this week and while it’s best to maintain good cardiovascular health, it’s also beneficial to know the warning signs of a heart attack.  Did you know the warning signs are different for men and women?

It’s important to know the indicators of heart attack because there’s only a small window of time to react.  For women signs could include chest, jaw, neck or shoulder pain, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, dizziness or shortness of breath.  Men may experience chest pain or discomfort in other areas of the upper body, cold sweats, or shortness of breath.  If you’re not sure it’s a heart attack contact your physician to talk about your symptoms, but remember every minute counts!  If you suspect a heart attack, don’t wait more than five minutes to call 911!  Fast action saves lives.
