Raising Chickens

As you’re well aware, there’s a grassroots food movement gaining ground right now.  And as part of this movement, consumers are becoming more interested and involved in where their food is grown.  Your local farmer’s market can be the best place to find local and organic produce, but you’ll also find meat, dairy, and eggs that are free of synthetic hormones and pesticides.  But the best way to ensure your food is safe and healthy is to grow it yourself.  Have you ever considered raising your own chickens?  Chickens are fairly easy and inexpensive to maintain and offer fresh eggs every day.  But did you know that chickens are a chemical free way to control bugs and weeds in your backyard and they provide the world’s best fertilizer?  All you’ll need is a little know-how, some chicks to get started, and a little room for a coop.
