Reuse Candle and Soap Remnants

Earthsense

We’ve been discussing ways to use what you already have to help you save money and go green, and what better way to do that than to put good use to those soap slivers and left-over candle scraps?  It’s easier than you think to make a new candle from the remnants of the candles you’ve already enjoyed.

Simply gather your wax scraps, melt them down and pour a new candle.  As for those slivers of soap that are left-over but never really useful, there are surprisingly numerous options.  Of course, you can melt them down into new bars of soap, or gather the soap scraps in a porous pouch or old sock and use them as soap on a rope.  Old soap bits can be used as tailor’s chalk or combined with glycerin, melted and used as hand soap.
