Sustainable Bag Lunches

Earthsense

Plastic sandwich bags are a handy way to send lunch to school with the kids, or bring lunch items to work with you. But have you ever considered re-usable alternatives to those baggies?  Using a lunch box instead of a disposable brown bag is great, but the items inside your lunch box can be re-usable too!

Sandwich size Tupperware containers are easy to find and can be washed and re-used, so they make a great alternative to throwing away sandwich bags every day.  Be sure to pack some silverware that can be washed rather than using disposable plastic cutlery.  And napkins left over from last week’s take-out dinner can be packed too.  You can save money by purchasing a large jug of juice rather than the juice boxes.  Just secure the liquid in a re-usable bottle or thermos.  The same idea can apply to yogurt and those healthy fruits and veggies!
