Unconventional Uses for Banana Peels

Earthsense

Bananas are a tasty and healthy snack, but before you throw out the peel, think about this: just like coffee grounds, orange peels, and tea leaves, banana peels have many beneficial, if unconventional uses

The Manganese, magnesium, and potassium found inside the peel of a banana can help whiten the enamel of your teeth, so try rubbing the inside of the peel on your teeth for pearly whites.  Add a banana peel to your next roast to add moisture while cooking.  Aphids don’t like banana peel, so bury the peels around your roses and cauliflower to deter the crawling pests.  Rub the inside of a banana peel on dry skin to help heal psoriasis and banana peel can also help heal acne.  And of course, the nutrients found in that banana peel are perfect for your compost pile and they break down quickly, so if all else fails, compost those peels!
