Upcycle DIY Crafts

Earthsense

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, but you can make treasures from your trash by using these simple upcycle do it yourself ideas.

Got an old knife block you no longer want?  With a few modifications, you can upcycle it into an art station for crayons and markers, or add small dowels to create a holder for spools of thread in your craft room.  Wooden crates or baskets are great for painting and using as hanging cubbies in your entry way.  An old ladder or spindle headboard can be used as a towel rack or quilt rack for blankets and throws.  Reclaimed wood is abundant these days and can be used for any number of home projects including a tray for your bathtub, or a spice rack for your kitchen.  Old tires can be painted and hung for a use as a decorative planter or laid flat for a potted plant.  And your old entertainment center can find new life as a kitchen play set in a child’s room.
