Vegetables that Grow Well Indoors

Earthsense

So, you want to grow your own vegetables, but you don’t have the space outside or maybe you want to cultivate your garden year-round.  Did you know there are many different vegetables that you can grow indoors?

Tomatoes are a great vegetable to start with because there are a few varieties that grow well in a hanging basket in front of a window.  Radishes are a root vegetable that don’t need much depth to grow inside- repurposed milk cartons do well for just a few seeds.  Potatoes are another vegetable that grow well indoors.  And Mushrooms also grow well on a windowsill.  You can purchase organic mushroom kits online or in many eco conscious retail outlets.  Beans, salad greens and of course, your herb garden are all great indoor growers, but be sure your pots have drainage holes as these are particularly susceptible to root rot.
