Bathroom Renovations Pt2

Earthsense

We spend a lot of time in our bathrooms and this is one room where water waste can get out of hand.  There are many things that you can do to mediate this waste like taking a shorter shower or installing a dual flush toilet.  But another thing that you can do is retrofit or replace your faucets and shower heads with low flow versions.

Federal law requires that new shower heads emit no more than two point five gallons per minute, so think about either an aerating shower head which reduces water flow by mixing air with water droplets or a laminar flow shower heads which use individual streams of water to reduce water usage in the shower.  You can cut back on water usage in the sink by installing a low flow faucet.  The EPA’s WaterSense label is a great indicator of whether a product is water efficient.
