Cold brew coffee makes a non-bitter coffee that’s great for iced coffee drinks and helps conserve energy as well. It’s very simple to do, there’s less caffeine per cup when cold brewed, and cold brewing allows for a different flavor profile.
You should start with one and one third cup of fresh finely ground coffee and four cups of filtered water. Combine the water and ground coffee in a Mason jar or French press and allow to sit at room temperature for up to eight hours but no more than twenty four hours. Then use a fine sieve to filter out the grounds to leave your coffee concentrate. To serve, dilute to your preference and flavor with almond milk or cream. Serve over ice for a cool treat. Four cups of concentrate will yield about 8 cups of coffee. Store your concentrate in the refrigerator- it will keep for at least one week.
