The 2017 Ron Howard documentary film “The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years” highlights the cultural phenomenon of Beatlemania in the 1960s.  The movie captures America’s excitement as John, Paul, George and Ringo stormed the country at the forefront of the most popular musical revolution of the century, the British Invasion.

Columbia Beatles fan Jerry Davis was more excited than most, because the major motion picture contains footage he owns of the Beatles’ visit to Detroit in 1964.  He talks here about how he acquired the film, and more than 30 years later became involved with the Ron Howard production.  Andy Smith, executive director of the Nickelodeon Theater, adds commentary about the film’s unexpectedly long run at the Columbia art house.
