Sun Safety

Earthsense

Summer is here and as the temperature rises, so does your risk for skin damage.  More than one million cases of skin cancer are diagnosed each year in the US.  So remember to protect yourself from the sun by following these tips next time you head outside.

First, cloth can protect your skin better than just about anything, so slip a shirt on over your bathing suit to protect your skin.  Next slop on some sunscreen!  And remember that not all sunscreen is treated equally, so choose the best one for you by doing some research.  Next slap on a wide brim hat- there are so many stylish hats to choose from these days.  And finally wrap on some sunglasses because your eyes need protection from the sun as well.  Keep in mind that the sun’s rays are strongest between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm, so reapply sunscreen often.
